Responsible Gaming

This page sets out how to keep gambling decisions deliberate, and where the help links on this site lead. It does not run any gambling activity itself: nothing on this domain accepts a bet, opens an account or moves money.

Planning ahead

Decide the amount before starting, and treat it as already spent rather than as money you expect to see again. Deciding in advance removes the pressure to reason in the moment, when a run of losses or wins makes clear thinking harder. Once that amount is gone, stop rather than reaching for more: chasing a loss usually means trying to solve a money problem with the same activity that created it, which tends to make the problem larger. Keep gambling money separate from money that is borrowed or owed elsewhere, so a loss on one side of your finances cannot turn into a debt on the other.

Breaks and other people

Step away at intervals rather than playing in one continuous stretch. A break gives you a chance to notice whether you are still enjoying the activity or simply continuing out of momentum. If gambling stops feeling like entertainment and starts feeling like an obligation, tell someone else early — a partner, a friend, or one of the organisations linked below — rather than waiting until the pattern is harder to change. An outside view often catches what is difficult to see from inside a session.

Help organisations

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: GambleAware NSW, Gambling Help Online, and Responsible Gambling. These links are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial: they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows them. They are shown as an independent source of help, nothing more is described about what each one does.

Where the controls live

Tools such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion belong to an account held with an operator. This site has no account, no form and no server-side application behind it, so nothing published here can switch such a control on, check its status or enforce it. Anyone who wants those controls arranges them inside an account at the destination reached after following an operator link, where that destination's own rules and checks apply from that point on. In the same way, nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it — any age check happens at the destination — and the eighteen-and-over restriction repeated throughout this build is a condition for the reader, not something enforced here. No advertising or behavioural profiling network runs on these pages, so nothing shown to a reader is targeted according to prior gambling behaviour.
