Consultations take place in your own home where you and your dog are most relaxed and where your dog is in it's most familiar environment. Most consultations last between 2-4 hours, but are not timed. The most important thing is that you understand the principle of what is taught and feel happy and confident to put it into place. Wherever possible, it is recommended that members of the family be present as well, as this is a way of life the household should adopt.
During the consultation you will learn about canine pack behaviour which is the foundation on which this method is based. You will gain an understanding of why it is important that we recreate pack behaviour in the home and how your dog instinctively understands this and can relate immediately to it.
You will be taught the four key elements where dogs look for leadership and how to implement these in your life to give your dog the clear, concise signals it is looking for.
You will learn that being a calm, convincing leader can be learnt very simply without the need for force, intimidation, raised voices or gadgets. During the consultation you will be putting the method into immediate practice, and many owners see a positive result before the consultation has ended.
What you will be taught is not a 'quick fix' to behavioural problems, but rather a way of life that is easy to implement and natural for both you and your dog to follow.
At the end of the consultation you will receive an action plan, and your choice of either a Jan Fennell book or training DVD as reference material. You will also have free on-going support via email or telephone for the life of your dog while it is living with you.
My commitment in helping you implement your new relationship with your dog is total, and I am here to help you for as long as you would like.
